OUSU

OUSU is the Oxford University Student Union. OUSU represents the student body to the university and offers advice to students and common rooms.

There is a dedicated OUSU LGBTQ Officer, currently this role is filled by Katie Colliver. His role is to support, advise and give information to JCR LGBT officers, including meeting with them twice a term. He is also here to strengthen links between LGBTQsoc and OUSU, and promote LGBTQ Council; to this end, do look out for joint events.

LGBTQ Council is an OUSU autonomous campaign group. They meet every odd week (weeks 1, 3, 5 and 7) and on week 8 at 7.30 pm to discuss issues affecting LGBTQ students in Oxford. As well as this, they run successful campaigns to improve and enrich the lives of queer students across the city.

They also produce the LGBTQ Handbook, the new edition of which is currently being written. Old copies are still available, though some of the information is now quite out-of-date. Please email chair.lgbtq@ousu.org for more information, and to be put on the LGBTQ Council mailing list. There is also a Facebook group and the dedicated website with more information.
